Everyday is a Masquerade

   So, there’s this guy I met in the library (the best place to look for prospects) - though I’m not sure if “met” is the right word since I’d been seeing him ever since I started college. He’s a student assistant in the library and I frequent that place. We were pretty much ignoring each other until last tuesday, a little mishap occured and he was laughing at me. It was just a small thing really, but for some reason he finds it hilarious. Every time I visit the library, he’d try to catch my eye and smile. Well, I can’t help but smile back because of mortification upon remembering that incident. And, I think I’m starting to like him a little bit.

   I’ve realized that the worst feeling in the world is when you’re actually too numb to feel anything. Every day, you walk around like a zombie. And when things go right or wrong, you just don’t care.

   Someone asked me out but I rejected him for the following reasons:

   • he and my friend had a past
   • he’s not my type
   • we don’t see each other often
   • my priority is my studies
   • I’m not yet ready for a relationship

   Even so, he said that he will keep trying.

I'm Alaska, a girl who reads a lot. I spend my money on books instead of clothes. My favorite scent is the smell of yellowing pages of old books. I have this bad habit of reading many books instead of finishing them one by one.

I like vintage, skies, drawing/art, photography, clouds, and a lot of things an average person finds boring.
